IL TESTO È UN OSPITE is the lecture-performance by Jacopo Giacomoni that marks the first public presentation of the Dipartimento di Drammaturgia Parassitaria (Department of Parasitic Dramaturgy), a research project investigating forms of parasitism in theatrical texts, and brings to a close his fellowship period at Scuola Piccola Zattere.

The parasite feeds at the host’s expense.
It eats at the host's table and gives nothing in return.

The Department of Parasitic Dramaturgy is a study centre devoted to the parasites inhabiting the theatrical ecosystem.
From the programme note to dialogue on stage, from the technical rider to the director’s notes, from the contract to the poster: texts are the hosts. All can be attacked.

Over the past months, several researchers have set out in search of dramaturgical parasites — gatecrashers at the theatre’s party.
This is the first time the work of the DDP is being presented to the public.
