In June 2025 at Scuola Piccola Zattere was held Il Fantasma di Pepper, curated by Edoardo Lazzari. The project was inspired by John Henry Pepper’s Pepper’s Ghost, an optical device capable of generating immaterial presences through light and refraction. Drawing on this reference, the programme brought together performative practices by local and international artists, including Veza Fernandez with Sandra Cane, kNN (Renato Grieco), Jacopo Giacomoni, Chiara Cecconello, Lucia Kagramanyan, and Gaia Ginevra Giorgi. These practices explore the threshold between the visible and the invisible, where bodies, voices, and images emerge as apparitions, traces, and perceptual residues.
