The workshop, led by artist Ludovica Carbotta together with art historian Vittoria Martini and photographer and assistant director Jacopo Tomassini, offers an experience in screenwriting and performative experimentation: a training opportunity that combines narration, improvisation, and video recording. 

Participants will be involved in the technical writing of one or two scenes from a hypothetical film, starting from previously outlined characters and narrative contexts, before moving on to staging and experimental filming within the Giardini della Biennale. 

The workshop is part of the larger project I Come From Outside of Myself (2022-ongoing), which reflects on the changing nature of European borders and which Ludovica Carbotta developed between 2024 and 2025 at Scuola Piccola Zattere, exploring the construction of possible worlds through the language of film. After an initial phase of work, carried out in March 2025 and dedicated to the creation of a screenplay set in an imaginary geopolitical reality, this new stage continues the research process, bringing the narrative to the level of visual experimentation.
