Workshop for families
Oltreforma presents CITTÀ, a creative workshop on ways of inhabiting.
What would we like to see from our window? What sounds would we enjoy hearing while walking around? How could we make the city feel more like ours?
Cities are the places where we learn to live together and share spaces. They contain what we dream of, but also what we would rather not have. Urban forms often impose limits on access, rigidity, and models that are not very sustainable for children.
The workshop draws inspiration from the work and participatory approach of Osservatorio Sant’Anna, a collective that carried out a fellowship at Scuola Piccola Zattere and is currently present with an installation on display in the institution’s spaces. Starting from these practices, we will try to reimagine an urban fabric tailored to those who inhabit it.
We will begin with a playful reflection on what we like—or don’t like—about the places we live in, and then collectively rethink shared spaces. Desires will take shape through the construction of three-dimensional paper figures, representing imagined spaces and the human and non-human elements that populate our cities.
The journey concludes with a modular collective artwork: an ideal city ready to change and adapt, in constant transformation.
The workshop is free of charge and recommended for children aged 6 to 11. During the workshop, parents or guardians may visit the exhibition R.S.V.P. Résonnez, S’il Vous Plaît.
