The Elephant in the Room

Fosbury Architecture

11/03 — 13/03/2026, 11.00 AM — 06.00 PM

Workshop

Scuola Piccola Zattere presents The Elephant in the Room, a workshop of three days curated by Fosbury Architecture, a design and research collective founded in 2013 by Giacomo Ardesio, Alessandro Bonizzoni, Nicola Campri, Veronica Caprino, and Claudia Mainardi.

Building on a broader research framework developed as part of the initiative HouseEurope! —an advocacy project promoting the reuse of existing buildings as a sustainable alternative to demolition—the workshop seeks to familiarize participants with the strategies, tools, and possibilities involved in reusing and reactivating existing structures. Focusing specifically on the Galeazze, 16th-century buildings part of the Arsenale complex, attendees will be invited to translate their ideas into images, models, performances, spatial interventions, or any other form of expression, embracing the diversity that the interdisciplinary group naturally brings.

PROGRAM

The workshop is free of charge and includes participation in three days of activities at the following times:
11-12-13/03/2026, 11 am - 6 pm.
