Guided tour with Diana Anselmo

28/02/2026, 03.00 PM

Guided tour

Saturday, 28 February at 3.00 pm, Diana Anselmo presents his installation in Italian Sign Language (LIS), part of the exhibition R.S.V.P. Résonnez, S’il Vous Plaît. This will be followed by a guided tour of the exhibition with cultural mediation by Scuola Piccola Zattere and LIS interpretation.

As part of the exhibition, the artist reconfigures Pas Moi, his most recent theatrical lecture-performance, co-produced by Scuola Piccola Zattere, in an installation format.
The work presents an articulated research process that moves through minor archives, counter-histories, and situated forms of knowledge, bringing to light a silent historical thread that connects the emergence of the first sound recording and reproduction devices—such as the microphone, telephone, and gramophone—to attempts to “cure” deafness, historically understood as a condition to be corrected and eradicated from the hearing world.
Speaking from a Deaf and signing perspective, Anselmo invites viewers to overturn the phono-centric hierarchy and the ableist bias on which it is founded, opening up a broader recognition of the value of different forms of listening, expression, and relation.
