SHAKE WELL – before thinking and making in academic research was a three-day programme of talks and discussions held on 16, 17, and 18 December 2025, dedicated to research-creation practices. Bringing together artists, performers, designers, and researchers, the programme focused on approaches in which theory and practice are in constant dialogue. Through the experiences and methodologies of Chloé Déchery, Eleanor Bauer, Julia Valle Noronha, Linnea Bågander, Marion Boudier, Stacey Sacks, June Yu, and Xavier Le Roy, the project explored modes of knowledge production and transmission that place the body and the situated nature of performative practices at their centre. Curated by the PhD candidates in Visual Arts, Performing Arts, and Fashion Studies at Università Iuav di Venezia—Lisa Andreani, Giulia Ciola, Lucia Di Pietro, and Caterina Rossato—SHAKE WELL opened up a space for exchange and experimentation in which thinking took shape through making.
