Workshop
The Listening Trumpet is a workshop/sharing of sound practices starting from those places where listening expands and mouths learn to trace the unspeakable.
Through a series of embodied visualizations, we will transform eardrums into listening trumpets.
Listening trumpets function both as funnels that distill the sonic flow and as expanded walls of listening that can be touched to feel through what they make resonate.
We will train ourselves to see and listen through sound, vocalization, calling, receiving, and responding.
We will learn from sound by imagining and shaping everything that coexists without being visible.

BIO
A dance, voice, and performance artist based in Vienna, Veza Fernandez weaves together singing, writing, movement, and speech as embodied practices of research, imagination, and transformation.
Her works are polyphonic convocations of voices and presences that long to move and be moved.
Her background spans philology, pedagogy, theater, music, and contemporary dance, and her work is rooted both in underground scenes and in more structured artistic institutions. She holds a Master's degree in Choreography from the DAS Graduate School in Amsterdam.
Her work has been presented in international venues such as brut Wien, Tanzquartier (Vienna), Sophiensaele (Berlin), Gessnerallee (Zurich), deSingel (Antwerp), and La Casa Encendida (Madrid).
