In October 2025, during their residency, artist Aliaskar Abarkas presented the workshop The Contest Between Harmony & Invention. Drawing on Antonio Vivaldi’s Il Cimento dell’Armonia e dell’Inventione, the workshop explored the concerto as a site of tension between individuality and collectivity, proposing a contemporary, collaborative reinterpretation of the form. Through open sessions led by Abarkas, participants collectively reworked and transformed Vivaldi’s collection using experimental practices involving sound, voice, silence, and unconventional scores. The materials developed during the workshop were brought together into a new composition for an upcoming album and as part of the exhibition R.S.V.P. Résonnez, S’il Vous Plaît at Scuola Piccola Zattere.
