Oltreforma presents RILEGARE, a creative bookbinding workshop for children.

We use books every day — to read, draw, write, take notes, and learn. We know them by their outward appearance — paper, pages, cover — but… do we really know how they’re made?

In this workshop, children will discover the art of traditional bookbinding, learning how a book is born and what materials and techniques make it up.
Through the exploration of unique papers, shapes, and textures, each participant will experiment with tools and materials, drawing inspiration from colors, forms, and details. Every element will offer cues for stories, impressions, and experiences connected to different places and production processes.

Together, the participants will use needle and thread to create a handcrafted notebook, which they can personalize and take home as a unique, handmade object.

The workshop is free of charge and recommended for children aged 6 to 11.

It will take place within Geometrie del Possibile, an installation designed by artist Andrea Canepa for the Ridotto, the School’s space dedicated to younger audiences.
